The 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis was commemorated in Chisinau

On September 22, the 150th anniversary of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was commemorated with the concert "Music and Colors: More than the eye can see" at the Chisinau Organ Hall. The Moldovan National Youth Orchestra performed Čiurlionis’ most celebrated compositions, along with works by Dvořák, Debussy, Chopin and Sibelius.

The hall was adorned with reproductions of Čiurlionis’ iconic paintings, creating a visual tribute to his artistic brilliance. A true visionary, Čiurlionis left behind a legacy of extraordinary paintings, musical compositions, and literary works that have profoundly influenced modern Lithuanian and European culture. His 150th jubilee has been recognized as a UNESCO commemorative anniversary.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from Moldovan institutions and diplomats from foreign missions in Chișinău.

Special thank you to pianist Daria Chiselita, the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra and its conductor Andriano Marian.
