Strengthening Independent Media and Resistance to Disinformation
On October 19, Moldovan civil society organization NATO Information and Documentation Center organized a virtual round table "Impact of Disinformation on Security and the Importance of Promoting a Security Culture". The participants of the event were introduced to the publication "Security between stereotypes and reality", which examines ten common false stereotypes related to security and defense topics.
Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova Kęstutis Kudzmanas welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of strengthening and disseminating the security culture.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Interior, the Intelligence and Security Service, as well as civil society, the media and academia.
The brochure on security stereotypes was published within the project “Support to Independent Media and Strengthening Resistance to Disinformation”, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Moldova and funded by the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme.
