NATO INFORMATION CENTER HOSTS AN EXHIBITION ON LITHUANIAN ARMED FORCES
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania and the Information and Documentation Center on NATO in Moldova on Wednesday, 29 September 2010, opened the Exhibition “Lithuanian Armed Forces in Photography”.
The exhibition shows the best pictures taken at the military exercises, international operations and during other various events. These pictures were selected from about 800 pictures taken by professional and amateurs photographers, as well as soldiers and civilians. Every year Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania announces "The Best Photo of Lithuanian Army" competition which raises big interests among photographers, soldiers and society at large.
The exhibition opened by H.E. Mr. Audronius AŽUBALIS, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. Minister in his welcome speech mentioned that Lithuanian and Moldovan military cooperation comes back from Middle Ages when Moldovan soldiers together with armies of Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Kingdom of Poland and other allied countries defeated Crusaders in the Grunewald Battle in 1410, expressed support in Moldova’s aspirations towards Euro integration.
The exhibition will be opened till Tuesday, 5 October 2010.
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuanian is acting as a NATO Contact Point Embassy in the Republic of Moldova till January 1, 2011.
