NATO allies show solidarity with the Republic of Moldova in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Today, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, the ceremony of handing over the second tranche of the NATO humanitarian assistance package for Moldova in the fight against COVID-19 took place.

The second lot, worth 190,000 USD, includes one hundred thousand disposable FFP2 masks. The first part of the package was delivered to the Republic of Moldova in February. The value of the entire assistance package is almost 500,000 USD, money allocated from the NATO Trust Fund in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with financial contributions from Luxembourg and Norway. The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Kudzmanas, Head of the NATO Contact Point Embassy in Chisinau and the Ambassador of Romania Daniel Ioniță.

The batch of equipment was delivered by Romanian military aircraft to the Chisinau International Airport.
