Lithuanian Foreign Ministry’s statement on parliamentary elections in Moldova
Ordinary parliamentary elections were held in Moldova on 30 November. These elections are very important for the political future of this country and the whole region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania welcomes the elections that have guaranteed the free expression of the political will of the Moldovan people. The results show that the majority of voters have chosen the European path.
We believe that the future ruling coalition will continue the course and dynamics of pro-European reforms, the fight against corruption and other important tasks started by the previous Government. Lithuania is ready to help the new Government of Moldova, sharing its reform and European integration experience.
Lithuania strongly supports Moldova’s independence, territorial integrity and the path of European integration chosen by Moldovans.
