Lithuanian expertise on transport safety presented in Chisinau
On August 26, Lithuanian and Moldovan experts on transport safety had a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Chisinau.
Representatives of the Administration for Transport Safety of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova, the National Agency for Motor Transport, the state enterprise "Moldova Railways" and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Moldova discussed the completion phase of the project "Safe and interoperable transport system in Moldova". Purpose of the project was to provide the necessary support to the Republic of Moldova in transposing European Union legislation in the field of transport, good practices and exchange of experience. Within the project, the experts from the Republic of Moldova will have the opportunity to take over Lithuania's experience in transposing European legislation in the field of railway, naval and road transport. The participants stressed the need to continue cooperation between institutions in Lithuania and Moldova that began in 2018. The project is implemented in the framework of Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
