Lithuanian experience for Moldova in the field of water management
On June 5-9, Irmantas Valūnas, a representative of the Ministry of Environment of Lithuania, together with his colleague from Portugal, participated in the technical assistance and information exchange mission (TAIEX) on issues of water supply and wastewater management in Moldova, financed by the European Commission.
During the meetings with representatives of authorities, water management companies and other interested parties, experience in implementing EU legislation was shared, good practices of countries and lessons learned were discussed. In the intensive discussions, issues of monitoring and control of pollutants, issues of environmental permits and handling of industrial pollutants and many other issues were discussed, important for achieving European environmental standards in the water management sector of Moldova, pollution reduction and quality and availability of services for residents.
