Lithuania shares its EU integration experience
On July 10-11, in Brussels, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and other institutions participated in the second part of the training program "Lithuania's EU integration: key takeaways". The purpose of the training is to help Moldova prepare for the accession negotiations and to strengthen the competences of officials responsible for European integration.
In the first part of the training program, which took place on June 5-9 in Vilnius, the Moldovan delegation was presented in detail with Lithuania's experience and lessons learned, EU affairs coordination model, EU institutional structure, cooperation with member states and other relevant issues.
During the training in Brussels, Moldovan officials working in the field of European integration got acquainted with the institutions operating in the capital of European affairs - European Parliament and European Commission, European External Action Service, sanctions policy, coordination of strategic communication and the fight against disinformation, and the latest information on the EU support to Moldova. Practical sessions have been organized for Moldovan officials and they have been introduced to the methods of effective speaking in the case of simultanious interpretation. The Moldovan delegation also met with Arūnas Ribokas, a member of the cabinet of Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner responsible for environmental protection, oceans and fisheries.
Training for Moldovan officials was held as part of the development cooperation project "Strengthening the administrative and institutional capacities and management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova" financed by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the project, Lithuanian diplomatic service and its legal and administrative structure as well as economic diplomacy, strategic communication and hybrid threat management were presented to the Moldovan officials.
