EMBASSY THANKS THE PARTNERS FOR COOPERATON DURING OSCE CHAIRMANSHIP
“Chairmanship in such a big organization as OSCE was a real challenge for Lithuanian diplomatic service. I am proud that despite moderate financial and human resources Lithuania proved to be active and successful”, said Ambassador Violeta Motulaitė.
Ambassador noted some of the highlights of Lithuanian OSCE Chairmanship, among them- the resumption of official negotiations in the format 5+2; Minsk group joint declaration; Mongolia’s application for membership; the strengthened political dialogue with Mediterranean countries; the intensified dialogue with the civil society.
V.Motulaitė expressed her gratitude for the head of OSCE mission ambassador Philip Rhemler for cooperation, good will and patience, as well as for all representatives of countries of the 5+2 process.
On his part, Ambassador Ph. Remler congratulated Lithuania with a very successful and productive OSCE Chairmanship, and stressed the very positive role of Special Representative for protracted conflicts Ambassador Giedrius Čekuolis. Ph. Remler also thanked the Embassy of Lithuania in Chisinau for excellent cooperation.
