EMBASSY PARTICIPATED IN THE ACTIVITIES OF EUROPE DAY IN BALTI

              On May 14 the Embassy of Lithuania took part in the Europe Day celebration in Balti, the second largest city in Moldova.

The tent of Lithuania was set up on the Main Square where the residents of Balti could learn more about Lithuania, its culture and history. They had a chance to learn the basics of the Lithuanian language, to talk to Lithuanian diplomats, and to take part in a quiz about Lithuania. The winners of the quiz were awarded symbolic prizes and souvenirs from Lithuania. Among one of the participants and the winners of the quiz was the Interim President and the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu.

in the framework of Europe Day in Balti, Ambassador of Lithuania Violeta Motulaite participated in the opening European Information Center at the A.Russo University, and also took part at the public debates on political issues in the Main Square of the City.

The representative of LCC University based in Klaipėda presented the study and education opportunities in Lithuania.

Europe Day is organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova and the Chisinau and Balti Municipalities. The event is an occasion to appreciate different cultures while at the same time to celebrate common values and common identity as Europeans.
