AMBASSADOR V.MOTULAITĖ OPENED BUSINESS CONFERENCE

Ambassador of Lithuania Violeta Motulaitė on April 14 opened the Business Conference “The Strategy of Rapid Growth” in Chisinau. The Conference is organized by the Lithuanian business consulting company “TOC Sprendimai” and its Moldovan branch “Centrul TOC”.

In her speech Lithuanian Ambassador emphasized the big potential existing for Lithuanian-Moldovan economic cooperation and the practical use of bilateral exchange of experience both for the state institutions and for business communities. From the onset of our Independence in 1990, Lithuania embarked on the Eurointegration path and boldly pursued the needed reforms. Today Lithuania is a member of the European Union and NATO, a country with a vibrant and strong economy, which successfully reformed most of its sectors, said Ambassador.

“The driving force behind this was our people’s strong desire to work hard to return back to Europe, to catch up for the time lost, the openness and readiness to implement all needed reforms. I have to admit, that in a certain way, I observe such an atmosphere recently in Moldova. Your country’s determination to follow the Eurointegration path finds support in Vilnius, in Brussels and in other European capitals. Now it is up to Moldova to capitalize on these gains, to implement reforms, and to show the concrete results. It is not an easy task. But Lithuania, along with other EU member states, stands ready to share its Eurointegration experience,- V.Motulaitė.

“Moreover, our successful Eurointegration experience and free market reforms helped to establish a strong, dynamic and ready –to-compete-on-European-level business sector. Lithuania is no longer only knowledge importing, but also knowledge exporting economy. And today’s conference illustrates that” said Ambassador.

Lithuanian Ambassador noted that there is an increased interest among Lithuanian and Moldovan business in each other’s market. Both our countries have convenient geographical positions for the business, needed experience and good understanding of each other. All these factors allow me to have high hopes for the fruitful and growing bilateral economic cooperation in the future, said Ambassador.

V.Motulaitė stressed that similarities between Lithuania and Moldova in the XX century makes the exchange of experience very valuable both for our governments and our business communities. The Conference “Strategy for Rapid Growth” was attended by the representatives of 70 Moldovan companies.
